A pastor, chaplain, author, and community leader who served eight years as a children's pastor in Carrollton, Mesquite, and Duncanville, Texas, and four years as an outreach chaplain in South Dallas. She became a licensed chaplain in 2022.
Karen is the Founder and Executive Director of Bridging Community (2018) and founder of Ladies of Zion (2023), ministries devoted to restoring lives and empowering women through biblical truth and practical support. A published Christian author since 2023, she inspires readers through faith-based teaching and encouragement.
Karen has been married to Pastor James O. Izekor since 2018 and is the proud mother of two grown children and grandmother of one grandson, with a granddaughter on the way.
An educator, minister, chaplain, speaker, and intercessor with a lifelong passion for helping others grow in faith, knowledge, and spiritual maturity. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education in 1970 and her Master of Divinity in 1984.
Throughout her years of ministry, Minister Marlyn has faithfully served in leadership and prayer ministry through the Trinity Prayer Team, Consuming Fire Prayer Ministry, SOZO Prayer and Deliverance Ministry, Singles Ministry, and Overcomers Bible Study.
Marlyn currently serves as Assistant Director of Ladies of Zion and is the founder of Tutoring with Brown, established in 2023.
